Configuration Files

Section - Welcome To Transformation Manager

Common Features

All of the properties files are plain text files containing control settings.  Each appears at the start of a new line, and is comprised of an identifier followed by an equals symbol = followed by an appropriate value or the end of the line.

All of these files are initially generated and then maintained automatically by Transformation Manager, but many of the values assigned to particular settings can be changed using a text editor.  Note that such changes should not be made whilst TM or a transformation program is running, and that changes take effect the next time TM or the transformation program starts.

Comments can be added to these files if they are prefixed by a hash # character.  Lines with a hash as the first character are ignored by TM and the transformation programs when the files are read. Note, however, that many of these files are overwritten by Transformation Manager.   Exec.properties, for example, is always overwritten by the Test Tool GUI, so you should keep separate backup copies of any files that you edit.
