The new Subsurface Data Management group on LinkedIn has reached the 250 member milestone.  “The group’s rapid growth since its launch in March 2013 shows the need for a forum for experts to share their knowledge and experience”, says group founder Karl Glenn.

The group was established to offer subsurface data management experts the opportunity to talk about issues, news and experiences.  The group’s aim is to foster discussion and knowledge-sharing, with recent topics encompassing everything from future trends to technical data movements.

LinkedIn statistics reveal that 51% of members are senior managers.  Houston, Texas is the most popular location, followed by the other oil centres of Calgary and Aberdeen.  Somewhat puzzlingly, only 68% of members class themselves as working in the Oil & Gas industry; but most of the rest classify themselves as ‘IT’.
