TM Example TCO and ROI

Establishing total cost of ownership (TCO) and/or return on investment (ROI) can be a challenge for any software tool set and this is equally so for data integration/ETL tools. The value from such tools for a particular project is often very difficult to quantify such as reduced risk, less errors, improved maintenance/updating, handling unforeseen complexity... This real life example aims to give a little insight into some of the more measurable aspects of the value derived from using TM.

The saving of 108 days assuming a daily rate of USD 450 per day gives a total saving of USD 64,800 over a hand coded solution.

Therefore the use of TM for the project reduced the implementation timescale from 5 months to 1.5 months while provided a saving of 108 man days. The solution also saves at least 30 days per annum in testing and maintenance and offers a far more flexible and responsive system for the business in the future.
