We climb Snowdon to raise money for the Mountain Rescue Team

On Wednesday 24 May, the ETL Solutions team climbed Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) to raise money for the Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team.

A mix of staff from the consultancy, development, sales, customer support and marketing teams took the Snowdon Ranger path and raised £400 for the vital work carried out by the local Mountain Rescue service.

The ETL Solutions team set off from the Llyn Cwellyn car park in warm but misty conditions. The image below shows the first of the walkers being led at a brisk pace by members of the consultancy team:

We paused for a break as the path rose higher and became steeper:

As we ascended towards the top of the mountain, we spotted a train from the Snowdon Mountain Railway, which appeared in the mist:

After three hours of walking in the misty conditions, we reached the Snowdon summit. Although the cloud restricted the view from the mountaintop, there were plenty of people resting at the summit area:

Members of our team were taking a break outside the cafe when the sun suddenly came out:

And the clouds began to shift, giving us glimpses of the views down to the valley and to the mountains beyond:

As we began our descent on the Snowdon Ranger path, we had fantastic views of the fearsome Crib Goch ridge:

The weather conditions remained sunny as we made our way back down the mountain. The image below shows the Snowdon Ranger path stretching down the mountainside; even on busy days it’s one of the quieter routes on Snowdon:

The path flattened as we approached the valley floor:
